Nigeria Sovereign Wealth Fund Resuscitates 11 Fertilizer Blending Firms

The Nigeria Sovereign Investment Authority (NSIA) has invested $100m (N36bn) in fertilizer plants under the Presidential Fertilizer Initiative.

The PFI is a brainchild of President Muhammadu Buhari, targeted at triggering farming output.

According to data from the NSIA, the fund has resuscitated 11 domestic fertilizer blending plants, producing eight million bags of fertilizer in the country.

The investment has thus led to the creation of about 250,000 direct and indirect jobs for the economy.
