Former United States President Donald Trump narrowly escaped an assassination attempt during a rally in Pennsylvania on Saturday ahead of the 2024 US general elections which will be held in November. Just as he began his speech, gunshots rang out, and a bullet grazed his ear. Secret Service agents swiftly shielded the former president and escorted him to safety.
While he was escorted to safety with his ear bloodied, he appeared undeterred by the scary event as he pumped his fist in the air energizing his audience. The campaign later confirmed that he was 'fine'. The incident left the suspected attacker and one attendee dead, while two spectators were critically injured. Investigation into this tragic event has begun.
