As a means of honouring the late Aretha Franklin, her home city’s baseball team had a minute of silence – and then something amazing happened.
The Detroit Tigers paid tribute to the Queen of Soul’s passing before their game against the Chicago Cubs earlier this month.
During the homage, the spectators were stunned – and delighted – to see a rainbow appear over the picture of Franklin that was on the scoreboard.
A photo of the dazzling incident was posted to the Detroit Tigers Facebook page with the caption reading: “Some pictures say it all.” The picture has since been shared thousands of times.
The baseball team also paid homage to Franklin by playing her songs in between their plays.
Since the soul singer spent most of her life in Detroit, the city was especially saddened by her death last week. Franklin passed away at her Michigan home at the age of 76.
