Ghana: “Rawlings Reduced Corruption And Graft To The Barest Minimum. He Didn’t Abolish It.” - Amidu

Former Head of State and President of Ghana, Jerry John Rawlings 

Special Prosecutor nomimee, Mr Martin Amidu during his vetting by is Deputy Minister of Trade, Nii Kwartei Titus Glover commended former President Jerry John Rawlings who resolved to fight corruption during his tenure, Graphic Online reports.

“He (Rawlings) reduced corruption and graft to the barest minimum. He didn’t abolish it.” Amidu said this in response to a question posed to him during his vetting on Tuesday by Deputy Minister of Trade, Nii Kwartei Titus Glover.

Mr Rawlings following the nomination of Mr Amidu as Special Prosecutor by President Nana Akufo-Addo, congratulated him noting that “The President couldn’t have made a better choice”.
