RwandAir Commences Direct Flight To Abuja


Two days ago, RwandAir commenced its direct flight operations between Kigali , the capital of Rwanda and Abuja the capital city of Nigeria.

Operated by a Boeing737-700, the inaugural flight which left Kigali Friday morning, touched down at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in afternoon to a warm welcome by water salute.

With the new service, Abuja has become RwandAir’s second destination in Nigeria, the first destination being Lagos where it flies daily from Kigali.

The new Kigali-Abuja will be served directly from Kigali four times a week, on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.

The new service will help RwandAir increase connectivity between East & West Africa and the rest of the network as well as enhance the relationship between Rwanda and Nigeria.

Abuja is the capital city of Nigeria. Its top tourist attractions include Aso Rock, Gurara waterfalls, Millennium Park, National Ecumenical Centre and the Abuja National Mosque.

 From its main base at Kigali International Airport in Kigali, RwandAir currently flies to 25 destinations across Africa, Asia and Europe with a young fleet of 12 aircraft.

In the near future, Rwanda plans to launch flights to Cape Town in South Africa, Guangzhou in China and New York in the United States of America.
