Arsenal have been fined £20,000 for “failing to ensure their players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion” against Leicester City on May 9, the FA has announced.

The FA charged the Gunners earlier this month after a number of the club’s players surrounded referee Graham Scott following the awarding of a late penalty to the Foxes.

Jamie Vardy scored the spot-kick as Leicester secured a 3-1 win at the King Power Stadium in Arsene Wenger’s penultimate game in charge of Arsenal.

“Arsenal have been fined £20,000 after failing to ensure their players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion during the 75th minute against Leicester City on 9 May 2018,” read in part the FA statement.

“Arsenal admitted the charge but did not accept the standard penalty. An independent regulatory commission subsequently ruled that the circumstances were not truly exceptional and the fine was applied.”
