Former Minister of Aviation Femi Fani-Kayode has commended the decision of the United States to move its embassy to Jerusalem.

The Office of the Spokesperson for the US State Department had said it was proud to announce the dedication of the new embassy, adding Amb. David Friedman would preside over the dedication ceremony.

It added that Deputy Secretary John Sullivan would lead the Presidential Delegation to the historic opening along with Secretary of Treasury Steven Mnuchin.

Reacting to the move on a post on Twitter, Fani-Kayode wrote:

“Today a great and ancient prophecy shall be fulfilled. The USA, the worlds most powerful and wealthy nation, shall move its embassy to Jerusalem, the eternal and undisputed capital of Israel. It is a day of joy, victory and celebration. God bless @realDonaldTrump! God bless Israel!”

Meanwhile this historic move by President Donald Trump has escalated clashes between Palestinians and Israeli forces along the Gaza Strip’s border on Monday. Thousands of stone-throwing palestinians had reportedly gathered near the border with Israel.

Gaza’s health ministry said 12 Palestinians have been wounded.
