Meghan Markle Confirms Her Father Will Not Attend The Royal Wedding

Prince Harry’s bride-to-be, Meghan Markle, has confirmed that her father will not be present at her wedding scheduled for May 19.

Markle confirmed this in a statement released through Kensington Palace, Harry’s official residence, on Thursday.

“Sadly, my father will not be attending our wedding. I have always cared for my father and hope he can be given the space he needs to focus on his health,” she said.

Her father, Thomas Markle, 73, underwent a heart surgery after suffering a heart attack few days ago.

Meanwhile, it was gathered that preparations for the wedding had continued amidst this report as a military dress rehearsal was seen at Windsor, west of London, on Thursday.

Plans for the wedding had gone smoothly until this development and many are faulting the British Royals for the “Markle debacle”.

According to a tabloid front page in The Sun, Thomas Markle was neglected by the royal family ahead of the wedding.

The Mirror quoted royal authorities as saying, “Hardly anyone has met Meghan’, Harry is attempting to organise everything ‘by himself’ and the bride’s dad, who is not attending the wedding, has been left unprepared for the fanfare.

“Instead of an expertly planned and repeatedly rehearsed event, Kensington Palace appears to be winging it.”
