U.S. Embassy Suspends 'Dropbox' Process For Visa Renewal In Nigeria
The U.S. embassy in Nigeria has announced that it will no longer accept visa renewal applications through courier company DHL, otherwise known as 'Dropbox' process.
In a statement posted on Twitter, the embassy said Nigerians seeking to get U.S. non-immigrant visas must apply online, and "will be required to appear in-person at the U.S. Embassy in Abuja or U.S. Consulate General in Lagos to submit their application for review".
The decision had been taken to "to provide more efficient customer service and promote legitimate travel", the statement said.
Nevertheless, Nigerians who had already sent their visa renewal passports through DHL before the announcement will not be affected, he added.
