Video: Deleted Scene From ‘Black Panther’ Between Okoye and W’Kabi Released

Deleted scene from the record-breaking movie, Black Panther, has been released by USA Today and it gives an insight into Okoye and W'Kabi's relationship, especially after W'Kabi betrayed King T'Challa.

According to Ryan Coogler, the co-writer/director of Black Panther, the deleted scene shows that Wakandan warriors Okoye (played by Danai Gurira) and W'Kabi (played by Daniel Kaluuya) are married. The scene shows what happened after King T'Challa was believed to have been killed by Erik Killmonger (played by Michael B Jordan).

Coogler says the scenes had to be deleted because "it didn't work inside of the confines of our film". He said making the scene was for the audience to realize that Okoye and W'Kabi were husband and wife.

The scene is a confrontation between Okoye and W'Kabi about where Wakanda was going after King T'Challa's death. In the scene, they're both furious with each other. She's mad that he helped Erik Killmonger enter the Tribal Council room, and he's mad that T'Challa didn't bring him Ulysses Klaue who killed W'Kabi's parents.

The scene also shows the couple were talking about Okoye stepping down from the Wakandan army, Dora Milaje, where she serves as the General.
