Osinbajo Urges Oil-Producing African Countries To Think Of Alternative To Oil

Yemi Osinbajo
Nigeria’s Vice-President, Yemi Osinbajo, on Monday urged oil-producing nations in Africa to think of an alternative to oil.

Osinbajo charged African countries to redouble efforts at using oil and gas revenues to pursue diversification, investment in infrastructure and human capital.

He said by so doing, the economic growth and development of the continent would be achieved.

He made this known while opening the Extraordinary Session of the Council of Ministers of African Petroleum Producers Organisation (APPO).

The Ministry of Petroleum Resources organised the event, holding at the Lagos-Osun Hall, Transcorp Hilton in Abuja.

Osinbajo asked that the APPO fund be opened to all, to allow private sector investments in order to overcome financial challenges as Africa has no reason or excuse to fail.
