Ethiopia and Eritrea both officially end their 20-year border dispute and reestablish diplomatic ties in a joint declaration of peace and friendship.

Ethiopia's Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed and Eritrea's President Isaias Afewerki have signed a "joint declaration of peace and friendship", Eritrea's information minister has said.

It specified that the "state of war" between the two nations was over.
