FG Plans To Close Third Mainland Bridge For Repairs

The Federal Controller of Works in Lagos, Mr. Adedamola Kuti, Tuesday, disclosed that plans are ongoing to shutdown the Third Mainland bridge for repairs.

Mr. Kuti, who spoke with Vanguard, said the Federal Ministry of Works would hold a meeting with stakeholders today in Lagos to discuss how to manage traffic during the repairs.

While he did not specify the exact date the bridge would be closed to traffic or how long the repairs would last, Kuti said the bridge may be “shut on July 29, 2019 but today’s meeting will determine the date for closure.”

According to him, stakeholders attending the meeting to discuss the repairs include traffic regulatory agencies, transport unions, truck owners and drivers’ unions, law enforcement agents, among others.
