French President Emmanuel Macron To Open Alliance Francaise Headquarters In Ikoyi, Lagos

As part of the activities lined up for his visit to Nigeria, French President, Emmanuel Macron, will on Wednesday open the new headquarters of Alliance Francaise in Ikoyi, Lagos.

According to PUNCH, the French president is billed to arrive in Nigeria on Tuesday. He is scheduled to visit Afrika Shrine, a nightclub founded by the late Afrobeat maestro, Fela Anikulapo Kuti.

According to a statement on Monday, Alliance Francaise, a French language and cultural centre, has got an expansive new edifice, located at No 9, Osborne Road, Ikoyi, Lagos, which will be opened by Macron.

“The inauguration, which will be held at 9 am, is expected to be attended by the French Ambassador to Nigeria, Denys Gauer, top government officials, members of the diplomatic community, captains of industry and cultural ambassadors, among other dignitaries,” the statement added.

Alliance Française has 10 associations throughout Nigeria, located in Enugu, Ibadan, Ilorin, Jos, Kano, Kaduna, Lagos, Maiduguri, Owerri and Port Harcourt.
