Morocco Signs New Fishing Deal With EU

Morocco and the European Union have signed a new fishing agreement at the end of four rounds of talks.

Morocco will receive more than 50m euros ($58m, £44m) a year, up from 40m euros, in return for allowing 128 fishing vessels from EU countries to fish in Moroccan waters.

The number of Moroccan sailors working on board these trawlers will also increase.

The agreement excludes fishing off the coast of the disputed Western Sahara region.
