World Cup: Ex-Actor To Officiate Final

Fifa have appointed Argentine Nestor Pitana as the referee for the World Cup final between France and Croatia.

The game is billed for Sunday at the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow.

Pitani is a former actor, who handled the opening game of the tournament between hosts Russia and Saudi Arabia.

He was also in charge of the quarter-final game between France and Uruguay.

The 43-year-old’s also handled Sweden’s 3-0 group-stage win over Mexico.

Two more Argentines, Hernan Maidana and Juan Pablo Belatti, will work with Pitana as assistant referees.

Also, Dutch referee Bjorn Kuipers will be the fourth official to be assisted by fellow Dutchman Erwin Zeinstra.
