Raphael Varane and Antoine Griezmann scored both goals as France subdued stubborn Uruguay 2-0 to reach the semi-finals of the 2018 Fifa World Cup in Russia.
Varane brilliantly headed home from Griezmann free-kick to give France the lead five minutes from half-time.
The South Americans almost restored parity from a free-kick of their own, but Lloris produced a superb diving stop to deny Martin Caceres, before Diego Godin sent the rebound out of the field.
France continued to control possession in the second-half, and later got a precious gift from the Uruguayan goalie, who mishandled Griezmann’s dangerless effort in the 61st minute.
France faces Belgium in the semi-finals in St Petersburg on Tuesday.
