NASA Postpones Launch Of Spacecraft
Parker Solar Probe/sciencenews.com
The US National Aeronautics and Space Administration NASA has postponed the launch of its $1.5 billion unmanned Parker Solar Probe until Sunday, to allow engineers more time to investigate a red flag that was raised in the last moment before liftoff.
NASA had planned to launch a probe on Saturday to study the Sun closer than any other human-made object before, revealing mysteries behind the fiery surface.
Officials said early Saturday that the problem had to do with the gaseous helium pressure alarm on the spacecraft. The next launch window opens at 3:31 (0731 GMT) on Sunday.
