Nigeria: Abuja Emerges City With Most Expensive Bus Transport Fare

Nigeria’s capital city Abuja has emerged as the most expensive place for intra-city bus transport fare in the country, according to the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).

According to the NBS July Transport Fare Watch, the FCT has the highest bus journey transport fare within a city, placed at N335 and is trailed by Cross Rivers and Abia states with N285 and N240 in that order.

On the other hand, Rivers, Anambra and Bauchi states had the lowest intercity transport fares of N110, N92, and N90 respectively.

Also, Abuja became the state with the most expensive inter-city transport fare with N4,200 and is followed by Adamawa (N3,200) and Borno (N2,700).
