This old tradition of American journalists running from the court house to the newsroom to deliever breaking news is known as the running of the interns.
On August 21, when the verdict in the case of former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort was announced in Alexandria, Virginia, bystanders were treated to the spectacle of reporters sprinting from the building to deliver the news.
