Nigeria’s Enyimba have reached the semi-finals of the CAF Confederation Cup after walloping Rwandan side Rayon Sports 5-1 in the second leg of their quarter-final clash in Aba.

The two-time African champions had brightened their chances of reaching the last-four after playing 0-0 with Rayon in the first leg away from home on 16 September.

The seven-time Nigerian champions wasted no time in commanding the game as Stanley Dimgba opened the scoring 12 minutes after the kick-off.

But the visitors silenced the home fans when Bonfilscaleb Bimenyimana equalised in the 25th minute.

However, the Peoples Elephant restored their lead with Ikouwem Utin’s effort in the 29th minute. From this point, it was all Enyimba, who completely put the Rwandan club to the sword.

Sunday Adetunji made it 3-1 after three minutes into the second-half before Joseph Osadiaye and Isiaka Oladuntoye completed the crushing of the Rwandan side.

Enyimba will confront former African champions Raja Casablanca in the semi-finals.
