The Federal Government has insisted that the contractor handling the Lagos-Ibadan rail line must employ Nigerian professionals.

This was the words of Minister of Transportation Rotimi Amaechi on Thursday at the inspection of the construction being handled by China Civil Engineering and Construction Corporation.

Amaechi who lamented that no Nigerian engineer was involved in the project, mandated the consultant to bring them in, as he stressed the need to meet up with the December deadline for the project.

He said “Now, we have given them two weeks to turn in all the designs of all the stations.

“Some of the stations won’t take more than one month to complete, especially now that the rain is over. So, we are still on target.”
