Nigeria's Ruling Party APC Rakes In N12.6bn From Sale Of Forms To Aspirants

The Nigeria's Ruling Party All Progressives Congress (APC) made N12.635bn from the sale of expression of interest and nomination forms for its primaries.

This amount was gotten when the cost of the forms and the number of aspirants that paid for them were multiplied.

President Muhammadu Buhari was the only contestant for the presidential primary and his supporters were said to have bought the form for him at the cost of N45m.

And for the governor primaries, each aspirant paid N22.5m with 171 aspirants getting the form.  This amounted to N3,847,500,000

The party then made N2.702bn from the sales of forms to senatorial aspirants with each form going for N7m for the 386 contestants.

And for the House of Representatives, the APC sold the forms to about 1,587 persons for N3.8m. The amount thus totaled about N6,030,600,000.

Adding up these figures, the ruling party made N12, 625,100,000.
