Nigerian Main Opposition Candidate Says 'Intimidated' By Govt Agents

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has said that he was searched by security agents when he arrived in Nigeria from Dubai, the United Arab Emirates, on Sunday.

It was earlier reported that security operatives allegedly searched the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on arrival from Dubai on Sunday.

Reacting in a post on his Twitter page, Atiku stated that the search was aimed at intimidating him and his staff.

He wrote: “I arrived in Abuja this morning to a search by agents of the state, aimed at intimidating me and my staff.

“I am committed to building a Nigeria where no citizen is intimidated by agents of the state who are paid to protect them.

“Together, #LetsGetNigeriaWorkingAgain.”
