'Avengers: Endgame' Overwhelms Records With $1.2 Billion Opening

"Avengers: Endgame" now has the largest grossing opening in history, according to CNBC report.

In its first five days, the superhero hit made $ 1.2 billion worldwide — the fastest movie ever surpassed the $ 1 billion mark.

The Disney and Marvel film beat "Avengers: Infinity War," whose opening weekend grossed $641 million last April.

"Endgame" on Friday made $ 156.7 million in revenue from the North American box office, about $ 37 million more than the previous record set by "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" in 2015.
