Mum, 22, 'Smiled As She Told Social Worker She Had Killed Her Own Baby'

Daily Post reports about an unusual feeling of a mother who lost her child.

A young mother smiled as she told a social worker she killed her baby.

Hannah Turtle, who denies murdering son James in June last year, allegedly told Fleur O'Hagan that she put her hand over the infant's mouth before he stopped breathing.

Ms O'Hagan told Mold Crown Court  when asked if she was showing any particular emotion, she replied: “No, not in the way that you would expect.”

In her statement, the social worker said that the defendant appeared to have “a slight smile on her face” and not really showing any emotion.

Turtle denies murder, three charges of ill-treatment and two of administering poison.

The case continues.
