Traffic Jam In China Causes Commuters To Spend The Entire Night And Next Morning In Traffic
Think your commute is bad? Think again.
You could be stuck in this traffic jam in China… with 11,000 cars in front of you.
Due to extremely heavy fog causing low visibility on Wednesday night, ferry services on the Qiongzhou Strait were cancelled.
Meaning the thousands of cars, coaches, buses and lorries needing to using the service – which is a major gateway to Hainan – were stuck.
And the number of people waiting in or outside of the three Haikou ports just built up and up and up.
In total, an estimated 100,000 people were forced to spend the night in the queue.
However, the ferry services reopened next day, the backlog of vehicles was not sorted immediately.
Due to a freighter and a passenger ship colliding during the night, there are still some delays.
