Nigeria's Labour Begins Nationwide Strike

Nigerian workers begins an indefinite strike on Thursday over the new minimum wage agreement.

The Nigeria Labour Congress had directed all its members and affiliate unions to commence a nationwide strike on Thursday (Today).

The organised labour had held a meeting with the Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige, in Abuja on Wednesday, which did not produce the expected outcome.

The workers are demanding an increase from N18,000 to about N50,000 as minimum wage.
